Mullvad voucher and discount: what exists and what does not

People who search for a Mullvad voucher usually mean one of two things: a discount code, or the prepaid card Mullvad sells through shops. Only the second exists. This page puts what Mullvad itself writes about both next to the price we record.

Mullvad has one price. Its pricing page shows €5 per month for one month, for one year and for “1 decade” alike, and says:

It’s not an optical illusion. It’s one flat monthly rate for ultimate flexibility. Including VAT.

So there is no long plan that makes a month cheaper, and nothing to compare a “deal” with. The sources and the other facts are on the Mullvad VPN page.

What a Mullvad voucher is

A voucher is a code that adds time to an account. Mullvad sells them through resellers as scratch cards:

With our official resellers, you can purchase Mullvad VPN scratch cards that contain an activation code to top up a new or existing account.

Mullvad gives two reasons to use one. The activation code cannot be linked to a payment, and you can give time to someone without knowing their account number.

A voucher is a way to pay, not a discount. Whether it costs more or less than €5 per month depends on the shop: Mullvad only says that resellers “offer Mullvad VPN at different price models than ours”. We have not compared reseller prices, so we do not say which is cheapest.

Where Mullvad says you can buy one

On its page Partnerships and Resellers (last updated by Mullvad on 29 October 2025) it lists:

• Amazon in the US, UK, Germany, Canada, Sweden, France, Spain, Poland, the Netherlands, Mexico, Australia, Italy and Belgium.
• Inet and Webhallen, electronics retailers in Sweden, online and in stores.
• ProxyStore in Germany and SerialCart in Austria.
• Laptop with Linux in the Netherlands, which sends physical activation codes.

A code from a seller that is not on Mullvad’s list is a risk we cannot assess. Check the list on Mullvad’s own page before you buy.

How to redeem a voucher

Mullvad describes two ways: on its website, or in the app.

If you have bought or received a voucher, you can redeem this directly in the app by clicking the Redeem voucher button.

The app then asks for the 16-character code on the voucher and confirms how much time was added.

Is there a Mullvad discount or coupon code?

Mullvad’s pricing page answers the question itself:

Yes. Our accepted cryptocurrencies are discounted at 10% due to lower fees and less administration. You can also buy from resellers that offer Mullvad VPN at different price models than ours.

That is the whole list. Mullvad names Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and Monero as the cryptocurrencies it accepts. It names no coupon codes, and we do not publish any: a code we cannot check is not something we can stand behind.

What to check before you pay

1. Refunds depend on how you pay. Mullvad offers a 14-day money-back guarantee, but not for cash, and it does not refund cryptocurrency payments. For a voucher, “refunds for payments made for vouchers are handled by the store/reseller”.
2. The crypto discount and the refund exclude each other. Paying with cryptocurrency is 10% cheaper and cannot be refunded by Mullvad.
3. A longer period is not cheaper, and not dearer later. Mullvad writes that you can top up for a year “or just pay month to month for the exact same rate”. How that compares with providers whose price rises at renewal: what a VPN really costs.
